A Key-Stage Two unit using festive television adverts to inspire work around narrative and description - includes unit overview and first full lesson. Over the 10 lessons, children will plot narratives, write short descriptions about setting and character, devise their own advert idea and create a video piece using technology, echoing the Christmas adverts use of narrative to create a story that will engage customers. iPads or cameras will be needed in this unit to create the video advert. iMovie is recommended as there are preset formats to use for younger children. Alternatively, drama could be used to put on a LIVE version of the advert in the classroom.
